Pest control in Gobles, MI
VexGuard Pest Control serves Gobles and the lake and farm country around it, about half an hour from Kalamazoo. With the Kal-Haven Trail through town, Pine Creek’s swamp woods to the east and small lakes in every direction, the calls here are ticks, mosquitoes, mice and carpenter ants.
Woods, lakes and the Kal-Haven Trail
Hi, I’m Scott. Gobles is a small town with a lot of woods and water around it. The Kal-Haven Trail runs right through the business district at M-40 and Depot Street. East of town, the trail passes through swamp hardwood forest along Pine Creek. To the northeast, Pine Grove Township is dotted with small lakes like Brandywine, Clear and North Lake.
Ticks on wooded and trail-side lots
If you live near the trail, the woods or a field edge, you’re living next to tick habitat. Ticks wait in the tall grass and brush where your yard ends. Yard treatments through the season, focused on that edge, cut down what you and your dog carry back inside.
Mosquitoes around the lakes and swamp woods
Swamp forest and small lakes hold standing water most of the summer. Mosquito treatments every 21 days, April through September, keep the shaded parts of the yard usable in the evening.
Mice and carpenter ants in rural homes and lake cottages
Rural homes, outbuildings and lake places see mice every fall, and the oak woods around here are carpenter ant country. A lake cottage with an old deck or damp crawlspace is a common place for me to find a carpenter ant nest. Home Defense covers both, or you can book a one-time carpenter ant treatment.

Is Gobles in your service area?
Yes. Gobles is about half an hour from Kalamazoo, and the city, Pine Grove Township, Kendall and Bloomingdale Township are all part of my regular route.
We live near the Kal-Haven Trail. Will tick treatment help?
Yes. Most ticks in a yard are along the edge, where lawn meets brush, woods or tall grass. That’s where I treat. Keep the grass short in that strip, and check yourself and your pets after time on the trail.
Do you treat lake cottages that sit empty part of the year?
Yes. I don’t need you there for outside work. Before you close up for the season, I can set traps and bait for mice and check the deck and crawlspace for carpenter ants.
Can you treat a barn or pole building for wasps?
Yes. Barn rafters, eaves and sheds are where paper wasps and yellow jackets build out here. I treat the nests and can look over the rest of the building while I’m there.
